Your connection belongs to you
Friendly Connections is provided by Grossman Labs LLC. You can use it on one device without creating an app account. There are no advertisements, third-party analytics, tracking SDKs, or data sales. This policy was updated September 25, 2026.
What the app stores
The app saves the names, connection type, date, emoji, media ratings, messages, mood pulses, answers, plans, and photos you choose to add. These details power your connection, shared activities, and recommendations. Your names, date, and emoji also appear in the Home Screen widget, which may be visible to people using your device.
Optional iCloud sharing
When you choose Connect & invite, your connection data is stored through Apple’s CloudKit service in your private iCloud space and shared with the one person you invite. CloudKit uses your Apple Account to manage access. The app does not receive your Apple Account password. Grossman Labs does not operate a separate server for your shared content. Your invited person can view and retain content you share.
Photos & notifications
Only photos you select are imported. Shared copies are resized and stripped of source EXIF and GPS metadata; your originals are unchanged. Notifications are optional and use generic descriptions instead of message text or photos. Your person’s name may appear in a notification. Change notification previews in iOS Settings.
Your choices & deletion
Edit your details in Us. Reset rating history clears the rating deck; when linked, it resets ratings for both people. Use Us → Start over to remove this device’s app data. If you own the shared space, this also deletes it from iCloud and revokes access. If you joined someone else’s space, this disconnects you but does not delete the owner’s copy. Copies independently saved by your person or retained in device backups may remain. Shared data is retained until you delete it; deletion and access changes on another device require it to reconnect.
